The authority sets the basic requirements for getting into MBBS. You should think about the things listed below before you apply to college. They are the most important things you should do.

• Nationality: The person running must be an Indian citizen.
• Must Really Live in Tennessee: The candidate must really live in Tennessee.
• Candidates who have finished from 6th to 12th grade in the state do not need to submit a nativity certificate. But they need to show their parent’s birth certificate, ration card, SSLC/10/12 certificate, or no graduate certificate if their parent can’t read or write.
• People who live in Tamil Nadu but are not from that state are not considered to have a domicile and must be accepted in the open category.
• People who live in Tamil Nadu but went to school in another state from class 6 to 12 must submit the important documents listed above for their parents. A certificate of permanent residence will not be accepted instead of the certificate of birth.
• Candidates must be at least 17 years old. General applicants must be at least 25 years old to take NEET. SC, ST, and OBC applicants must be at least 30 years old.
• If you want to be a candidate, you must have finished your 12th grade with biotechnology and English as your main subjects from the state.
• Students who are not in a reserved category must get at least 50% in PCB, while students from SC, ST, and OBC must get at least 40% in the required subjects.

• General Category : Refers to seats allotted to candidates who do not belong to any special category (i.e Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Eminent Sports Persons, Children of Exservice Men or Special Preferential 7.5% Reservation to Government School Students)
• Special category : Refers to seats allotted to candidates who belong to any one of the special categories (i.e Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Eminent Sports Persons, Children of Exservice Men or Special Preferential 7.5% Reservation to Government School Students)
• Government Quota (GQ) : Refers to seats alloted by the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee under Government Quota. This includes seats in all Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges and a proportion of seats in Self-Financing Medical/Dental Colleges & (50% or more) under Government Quota.
• Management Quota (MQ) : Refers to proportion of seats in Self Financing Medical/Dental Colleges & which are under Management Quota (35% or Less). These seats will have a higher fee structure compared to GQ seats.
• NRI Quota : Refers to proportion of seats in Self Financing Medical/Dental Colleges & which are reserved for NRI candidates (15% of SF college seats).
  PWD quota : Refers to seats reserved for Persons with benchmark Disability (5% of seats in all instituitions). Candidates should have submitted PWD certificate obtained from the regional Medical Board, RGGGH, Chennai-03.
• Ex-Servicemen Quota :Refers to the Seats Reserved for the Children of ExServicemen in Government Medical/Dental College
  (M.B.B.S. – 10 & B.D.S. – 1) as explained in Clause 14.2.
• Sports Quota : Refers to Seats Reserved for Eminent Sports Person in Government Medical/Dental College (M.B.B.S – 7 and B.D.S.- 1)as explained in Clause 14.3.
  7.5% Special Preferential Quota : Refers to 7.5% of seats in the admission to M.B.B.S/BDS which are reserved on preferential basis to students, who have completed their scholling from VI to XII in State Government schools and qualified NEET-UG 2024.

Category Reservation in MBBS Admission Tamilnadu

The selection will be made based on NEET – UG 2024 score and by Single Window counselling following the rule of reservation by the Government of Tamil Nadu asfollows: –

1. Within the 30% reservation for Backward Classes, 3.5% will be provided for Muslims.
2. 16% of seats out of the 18% quota earmarked to Scheduled Caste shall be allocated to the Arunthathiyar Community as per Tamil Nadu Act No.4 of 2009 dated 12.03.2009.
3. Reservation applicable at the time of counselling will be followed. BC, BCM, MBC / DNC, SC, SCA, and ST candidates are eligible for selection under Open Competition as per rank in addition to the reservation made for those categories.
   • Any remaining unfilled seats for want of adequate number of eligible candidates belonging to SCA community shall be filled by candidates belonging to SC community other than Arunthathiyar as per merit and vice versa. (GO (Ms) 55 P & AR Department, Dated:08.04.2010)
   • Any remaining reserved seats in ST Quota for want of adequate number of eligible candidates belonging to ST community shall be allotted to candidates belonging to SC Community as per merit. (GO (Ms) No.77 Health & Family Welfare Department (MCA1) Dated 24.02.2011).
   • Any remaining unfilled seats in BCM Community for want of adequate number of eligible candidates after exhausting the merit list shall be filled up on merit basis by candidates belonging to BC community without exceeding the quota for BC community as a whole (G.O.Ms.No.30/H&FW Dept(MCA1) Dated 18.01.2012)
   • Even after filling up of the required seats reserved for Arunthathiyars on preferential basis, if more number of qualified Arunthathiyars are available, such excess number of candidates of Arunthathiyars shall be entitled to compete with the Scheduled Castes other than Arunthathiyars in the inter-se merit among them (As per G.O.Ms.No.65, P & AR (K) Department, Dated:27.07.2009.
